zBill — Common Questions

Is zBill a one-time purchase or subscription? +

zBill is a one-time device license. You pay once and own it for the license period. Renewals are discounted and your data is never locked or deleted.

How does the Hardware ID license work? +

On first launch, zBill generates a Hardware ID tied to your machine. Submit it to us, we send back a license key. Data stays fully local — no cloud dependency.

Does zBill work offline? +

Yes — zBill is a Windows desktop app built on SQLite. Works 100% offline. Internet only needed for the initial license activation.

Can I run zBill on multiple computers? +

Each license covers one device. Contact us for multi-device bundle pricing.

Is GST included in the prices? +

No. Prices exclude 18% GST for Indian customers. A valid GST invoice is issued for all purchases.

Can I upgrade from Starter to Pro later? +

Yes — upgrades are available at any time. You only pay the difference in license value. Contact us to arrange an upgrade and your data will be fully preserved.

Which Zegment products can I connect to? +

The Report Tool connects directly to zBill, Clinic Management System, and Asset Management. Starter allows 1 connection, Pro allows 3, and Enterprise allows unlimited.

Can I connect to an external database? +

Enterprise users can connect to external SQL databases. Pro and Starter users can add a custom connector as a paid add-on.

How do scheduled reports work? +

You configure a report, set a schedule (daily, weekly, monthly), and add recipient email addresses. The system generates the report and sends it automatically as a PDF or Excel attachment.

Do I need a separate subscription if I already have zBill? +

Yes — the Report Tool is a separate subscription. However, we offer bundle discounts when purchased together with any other Zegment product. Contact us for bundle pricing.

Any physical or digital asset — IT equipment, vehicles, machinery, furniture, tools, buildings, infrastructure, and more. You can create custom asset categories to match your organisation.

How does the mobile app work for field teams? +

The Flutter-based mobile app lets field staff scan QR codes to pull up asset details, log maintenance activities, capture GPS location, and take photos — all with offline support that syncs when connectivity is restored.

Can I import my existing asset register? +

Yes — we provide a bulk import add-on to migrate your existing Excel or CSV asset register into the system. We map your columns to our fields and validate the data before import.

Does it integrate with our existing ERP? +

Enterprise plan users get API access for integration with existing ERP, finance, or HR systems. We can also build a custom integration as a professional services engagement.

Is GIS mapping available for all plans? +

GIS mapping is available in Pro and Enterprise plans. If you need professional field GPS surveys and spatial data creation, we offer that as a custom add-on through our GIS services team.
